If it weren’t for Volunteer Coordinator Brenda Horton, the Carson City leg of AAVD would not be possible, nor would it be the success it is. Since 2012, Carson Area Representative and invaluable member of the AAVD team, Brenda has solicited dental volunteers to participate in AAVD, handled all intake and processing of veterans for the program, coordinated introductions between veterans and dentists, facilitated the annual Poker Run fundraiser for AAVD and even transported veterans to their dental appointments to see to it that they complete their treatment. In addition to many other accolades earned by Brenda, this year she received Governor Sandoval’s Nevada Veteran Supporter of the Month award, as well as Congressional recognition for this award by Congressman Amodei.  Brenda’s list of noteworthy community service contributions and participation in Veteran’s Associations goes on and we can see why. Her dedication to AAVD is unrivaled and we are forever grateful that Brenda is part of our team!
