Healthy Smile Healthy Child Team Grows with Addition of Dental Assistant Emily Fragoso
- On January 8, 2020
Emily Fragoso brings six years of experience in the dental field and a passion for giving back to her role as dental assistant for the Healthy Smile Healthy Child (HSHC) program.
After graduating from the Truckee Meadows Community College’s Dental Assistant Program in 2013, she began her career at a private dental office. However, after a short time working in the private sector, Emily realized her true passion was to help people in need and accepted a position as dental assistant for Community Health Alliance (CHA).
Being bilingual made Emily a great asset for CHA and the Spanish speaking populations it served. After a couple of years, she was promoted to the position of dental coordinator for the Hospital Program and for the Healthy Smile Healthy Child Program (back when HSHC was administered by CHA).
With the recently formed partnership between Northern Nevada Dental Health Programs/HSHC and Renown Children’s Hospital, there was a need to grow the HSHC team and hire another dental assistant to help execute programming for the underserved in the community. With Emily’s past experience working with HSHC, her bilingual talents and strong work ethic, she was the perfect fit for the position and became, yet again, part of the HSHC team.
A fun fact about Emily is that in addition to her dental assisting work she recently obtained her real estate license and is eager to help families find their dream home! Aside from working hard, Emily enjoys going on trips with her husband and her two kids. While her favorite season is summer, she also cannot wait to get up on the mountains and go on a snowboard run during snow season.
